I work primarily by commisssion. The commission process is exciting to me because I work very closely with a client to understand their vision and translate that into an art form.

Here is an example of the commission process for a group of White Tail Deer.

The client approached me with the idea of sculpting a trophy White Tail that he harvested. I visited the site to gather reference.

We discussed ideas, drew sketches, and finalized the idea of a sculpture of three deer.

In the studio I begin to create the armature and clay forms of the sculpture. I continue to be in contact with the client, sending in-progress photos and discussing composition.

The finished piece.
